SATISFIED CLIENTS

As a former WHL player in the mid-1990s, I experienced the impact that a loss of confidence can have on an athlete’s performance. During my playing years, there were times when my confidence dipped, and even the simplest plays became difficult. This had a significant effect on me mentally—something many athletes can relate to at various points in their careers.

Understanding how critical the mental side of the game is, I knew I wanted to provide my children with the right support to navigate similar challenges. That’s why we began working with Mental Performance Coach, Ryan Guenter.

Ryan has played a vital role in my children’s athletic and personal development. He has guided them through difficult moments and equipped them with tools and strategies to strengthen their mental resilience. His support has not only enhanced their performance on the ice and on the field but has also contributed to their growth and confidence outside of sport.

I highly recommend Ryan Guenter to any athlete or parent looking to support their child’s mental well-being and overall development.

Working with Ryan was a game-changer for our team. His ability to truly connect with each individual player sets him apart. He doesn’t just deliver a one-size-fits-all approach—he takes the time to understand each athlete, builds trust, and creates a personalized plan that builds their confidence and brings out their best.

Whether it’s helping a player stay focused under pressure, bounce back from a tough game, or believe in themselves during a slump, Ryan meets them exactly where they’re at. His support has had a noticeable impact not just on performance, but on the overall mindset and growth of our team. He was an essential part of our success with the Swift Current Broncos the last two seasons.

I’ve been working with Ryan the past two seasons on the mental side of my game, and it has helped me tremendously. I think the biggest takeaway is that Ryan has allowed me to enjoy the game again. I used to put so much pressure on myself, and I would lose the enjoyment of the battle. As a result, my play suffered and I didn’t feel myself outside of hockey, at times. When Ryan and I worked on being more mindful and how I could to get back to enjoying the moment using breath and self-talk strategies. As a result, I found myself enjoying the competition again. When I started to have fun and enjoying the moment, I found my game improved as well as my life outside of hockey.
